About
My name is Marilynn T. Mobley and I revel in my bommer-ness.
This is a blog for my fellow boomers. I think it’s time we stand up and say we’re proud to be 50-plus! There have been days I wasn’t absolutely certain I’d live this long. So, I decided to start a blog to share 50 lessons I’ve learned in my first 50 years. I hope you’ll find it entertaining and maybe even a little enlightening.
By the way, I’ll be 50 on March 18, 2007. By coincidence, so will my twin. I’ve been married 25 years (as of April 10) and my husband and I have two girls, 17 and 21, a senior in high school and a senior in college respectively. I’m a classic sandwich boomer, still raising children, but managing my elderly parents, who are 78 and 81. We live in Marietta, GA, a suburb of Atlanta, and I make my living as a an executive at a well known global PR firm.
You’ll probably pick this up in my writing, but just in case you don’t: I am a deep-fried Southerner who loves the UGA bulldogs! (I was graduated from UGA during the Carter administration.)
